/tilt+turn and fixed glazing
Professional installation of all window and door units is necessary to ensure proper operation! Faulty installation could cause damage to the unit and the building structure and can void the guarantee!
It is imperative to adhere to the following instructions:
Operable windows
-
Remove operable sash from the frame before installation. The frame is installed first, the sash put back on the hinges only after completion of the installation.
-
The window frame needs to be placed on supporting blocks (load transfer) which are placed in the lower right and left corner of the window opening. These blocks should not protrude to the inside or outside of the frame and will remain in place permanently.
-
Insert supporting blocks to the left and right of the vertical frame member and check with a level that frame is plumb and level in the wall opening. Use wooden wedges to secure frame.
-
Apply non expanding foam in the joints between window frame and wall opening, remove the provisional wedges at the top corners and foam the remaining openings.
-
Mount the frame to the building structure using screws, the distance between screws should be according to the drawing below.
Fixed glazing
-
Fixed glazing cannot be mounted directly through the frame, the installation of metal tabs on the outside of the frame is necessary. These tabs should protrude to the inside of the window opening.
-
After placing fixed glazing on the supporting blocks and using wooden wedges to secure it in place, non expanding foam is applied and wedges can be removed.
-
The metal tabs can now be mounted to the building structure.
Application of tape
-
The foamed filled space between window frame and building structure must be taped on the inside and outside.
-
The inside tape has to be vapor-proof to prevent the penetration of moisture into the joint.
-
The tape used on the outside must be wind and rain proof, however, the sealing tapes used must be permeable to dissipate any moisture.
-
The interior and exterior finishing work can be done after the installation of all windows and doors has been completed, following the instructions above.
-
Only regular service of our products guarantees proper operation, service is performed annually according to the service instructions.
